Hannah Montana has some fans in an uproar because it’s been discovered the singer is using a body double in her show. The body double is on stage for under a minute, but that’s 60 seconds too long for some concert goers. See the body double video below.

Hannah Montana, the popular singer played by Miley Cyrus, has been at the center of controversy since before she even kicked off her tour. Tickets sold out in record times and most went to brokers who turned around and sold them for hundreds of dollars over the original price. This high price of tickets, coupled with the body double scandal, has left some fans feeling ripped off.

"Needless to say I was furious!" says the irate fan. "I paid good money to see the concert. I was disappointed and I felt like I was played for a fool."

The switcharoo is causing such controversy, Miley’s PR firm issued a statement. See the statement and body double video after the jump.


"To help speed the transition from Hannah to Miley, there is a production element during the performance of ‘We Got the Party’ incorporating a body double for Miley," according to statement from the public relations firm PMK, which represents Miley.

"After Hannah has completed the featured verse on the duet with the Jonas Brothers, a body double appears approximately one to two minutes prior to the end of the song in order to allow Miley to remove the Hannah wig and costume and transform into Miley for her solo set. Other than during this very brief transitional moment in the show, Miley performs live during the entirety of both the Hannah and Miley segments of the concert."

Miley can’t seem to stay out of the spotlight, but maybe this little scandal will help people forget about those pictures with her and her female friend. I don’t see what the big deal is here. She’s moving the concert along during a costume change. But I didn’t pay a $1000 for a ticket to see the show either so I don’t know. But I did think it was funny when someone called her "Miley Vanilli."
